The Give As You Go^™ Fund

When you buy a Hayden Home, you help shape the community you become part of. At the heart of the Give As You Go^™ Fund is including our homeowners. With every new Hayden home purchase, Hayden Homes will make a donation through the Give As You Go^™ fund directed to housing solutions and back into nonprofits in the county where the home is built.

Homeowners are invited to nominate a nonprofit organization they care about, ensuring that giving stays local, personal, and connected to real community needs.

The Give As You Go^™ Fund unites Hayden Homes’ long-standing commitment to community — through every home we build, the nonprofit First Story, supporting local nonprofit organizations, and partnerships that strengthen the communities we serve.

FIRST STORY

First Story, founded by Hayden Homes in 1998, offers economic mobility for under-resourced populations. Their zero-interest home loan requires no down payment or credit score.

For Hayden Homes, giving isn’t limited to dollars. Our team members volunteer their time, share resources, and build lasting relationships that strengthen the communities we serve. Hayden Homes proudly offers each team member 16 hours of paid volunteer time off per year for community impact.

Rooted in Founding Values

Hayden’s Mother, Virginia, was a strong woman that inspired others through her generosity to be at your best, each and every day. Virginia saw each person as an individual and believed that every person was worthy of love. She believed that we should live in a world where we GIVE more than we get.

Lessons in generosity and compassion came early in Hayden’s life. For Hayden’s Mother, Virginia, grew up during the Great Depression, and she shared many stories of how “out of work” men would stop by their house and ask her mother, “Do you have any work, Ma’am?” and Hayden’s grandmother never turned them away, instead she’d give them an job; stacking firewood, cleaning the yard or fixing a broken pipe and their payment was a homemade sandwich, a smile and genuine care.
